Firedamp and Davy Lamps

Project overview

How did it feel to work in a coal mine? How has the coal mining industry changed over the years and does it have a future? Explore these questions and more in this special project about the coal industry and its impact on the UK.

It is built upon our four-stage primary focused pedagogy โ€“ Engage, Develop, Innovate, Express โ€“ to get your children curious about the project ahead, develop and then use new skills and knowledge, before finally allowing them to express their thoughts, ideas and reflections on what they have learnt.
