Maestro comes with an inbuilt skills and knowledge progression framework, which underpins your curriculum content. This framework gives teachers clear assessment points in every primary subject. Maestro provides teachers with class-based assessment tools to monitor and support learning. Live recording of what has been taught and learnt, alongside quizzes and more formal half termly tests, enables you to make quality assessment for learning and accurate teacher assessments.
Your school will have access to an all in one platform where you can design, deliver and manage your primary curriculum. Here you can choose from over 100 engaging Cornerstones Curriculum projects. You can edit and adapt these projects or add your own projects to the platform. To save teachers time, Maestro also includes thousands of supporting lesson plans and resources.
All content is automatically linked to a built in skills and knowledge framework, to ensure clear progression and coverage across the school and between all year groups. Maestro also has a complete assessment for learning package and leadership tools for monitoring the impact of your curriculum. Our experienced curriculum advisers will provide you with ongoing curriculum support as and when you need it.
Our pricing is flexible and offers excellent value, making it cost effective for any school. Your annual curriculum licence will give all staff access to Maestro, including all curriculum materials, assessment tools, resources, new features and ongoing expert support. The price depends on the size of your school, and we offer discounts for multi-school purchases. For schools new to Cornerstones, the licence ranges from £775 to £2,750. Just give us a call or email us and we can give you a quote for your school.
We also offer loyalty discounts for schools already using the Cornerstones Hub or preHub materials. If you are already using Cornerstones materials, please get in touch for your loyalty pricing details.
As a 'loyalty school', it's free to move on to Curriculum Maestro from The Hub. After this, you'll pay an annual renewal fee. The Maestro renewal is higher than the old Hub renewal cost because you get so much more, however, you will receive a substantial discount compared to new schools. Maestro is a comprehensive, live, all in one platform that removes the need to buy additional expensive assessment packages and further curriculum consultancy. Over 1000 schools have already moved to Maestro, as The Hub will be closing in August 2021. We would be happy to arrange this for you.
Yes, you can absolutely rejoin us on Maestro. We just need a few details from you to set up your annual licence and get you up and running in no time.
No. Maestro is most effective as a whole school curriculum design and management tool, which enables complete coherence across school, a key priority for schools, especially under the new inspection framework. Individual teachers have their own login and dashboard, so that lesson plans and curriculum models can be personalised.
The best way to trial Maestro is to book a one to one or group demo with one of our advisers. They will listen to your needs and show you the features that will help you most. You are then very welcome to book further demos and ask us any questions before deciding upon purchasing your licence. Once your licence starts, you’ll get ongoing curriculum support to help you to get the most out of Maestro.
A demo is the perfect opportunity to see how Maestro works. One of our curriculum advisers will ask you what you need and will show you how to use Maestro in the best way to support your school. The demo is a great way to get a feel for what Maestro offers and how it can save you time. The next step is to book a more focused session where we can take you through the simple curriculum design process step by step.
Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions and government guidelines, much of our support is offered through online demonstrations. If you need us to visit in person, we can do this so long as government guidelines are followed.
Our team includes experienced primary leaders, advisers and teachers who are here to help you at every step of your curriculum journey. We can help you to work on your curriculum intent, help you to implement it, and how to monitor and maintain its impact on teaching and learning. It fits perfectly. Our curriculum experts began developing Maestro even before the new Ofsted framework was published. From our research, leaders told us that they needed a one platform solution to help them to design, connect and sequence their curricula clearly. The new inspection framework identifies three stages of curriculum excellence: intent, implementation and impact. You can plan, deliver and manage all three on Maestro, at the click of a few buttons.
Schools tell us that Maestro has supported them extremely well during the subject deep dives. The online tools and resources enable leaders to keep a close eye on actual, not just intended, subject coverage and progression. Maestro makes it easy to articulate where and how subject aspects are taught, where there are gaps and how to address them. Book a demo and we can show you how Maestro supports you with the inspection process and deep dives.

Yes. Curriculum Maestro allows middle and senior leaders to track the intended and actual coverage and progression throughout school. Please book a demo and we can show you how this is done.
Absolutely. Maestro shows you how each subject is covered across your curriculum and where subject aspects, key concepts and objectives are taught and learned. Subject leaders can easily plan coverage, run reports to monitor what is really happening in their subject across school, and support other teachers. Some schools don’t have subject leaders, because they use Maestro for shared subject leadership. Book a demo to find out more.
On Maestro, your curriculum is fully connected, with authentic links made between subjects. Read more about connecting your curriculum in this blog or book a demo and we can quickly show you how it’s done.
We've partnered with Wonde to synchronise Maestro with information in your MIS (such as Capita SIMS, RM Integris, ScholarPack). This means that your classes and pupils will always be up to date with information about attributes, new pupils or pupils that have left the school. Maestro uses this information securely to populate your midterm plans, monitor actual coverage and allow you to assess in real time.
If your school is not yet using the Wonde portal, we will cover the cost of this service for you. This means that you have the option, free of charge, to ensure that Maestro stays in sync with any relevant information that you input or change in your MIS. Please get in touch to find out more.
They are very different. The Hub acted as a library of projects and resources, but Maestro goes beyond this. It is a live, connected online platform developed to meet the needs of schools. It helps you to seamlessly plan, teach and assess, and takes away unnecessary workload. The key difference is that Maestro can show you what has been taught and learned in your curriculum, not just what is planned. This aligns with the new expectations from Ofsted.

Cwriciwlwm Maestro is not an off the shelf, readymade offer, but a system to support schools to design, deliver and manage their provision in line with the Curriculum for Wales guidance. You are in control at every stage of curriculum development and have clear ownership of your curriculum. It’s also easy to review and edit your curriculum, as everything is live, saved, and shared online.
A co-constructed and shared curriculum statement is a vital place to start your design process. Talk with your stakeholders about your vision and agree on a statement that embraces your school context and the desired overarching entitlement for the pupils of your school. This vision and pupil entitlement can be easily created and shared with stakeholders on Cwricwlwm Maestro.
The Welsh government advise schools that they don't need to assess directly against the descriptions of learning. However, progression is at the heart of good curriculum design, so Maestro includes a clear, built in skills and knowledge progression framework. This means that you can track children’s progression and their increasingly sophisticated understanding in all areas of learning and experience. Maestro integrates and connects curriculum content and assessment in every subject, supporting leadership at all levels.
Central to the Curriculum for Wales statutory guidance is that schools design a bespoke curriculum with progression at its heart. Maestro helps you to define your curriculum vision, develop sequenced content and make meaningful assessments. The editable projects on Maestro offer you a starting point to deliver an engaging, broad curriculum with the four purposes at its heart. You can also add your own bespoke content. Maestro covers all areas of learning, and experience and is directly linked to the statements of what matters.
We have created Welsh language resources in the 11 Welsh humanities projects for Year 1 to Year 6. To give you choice and make it truly bespoke for your needs, all content on Maestro is editable. This means that teachers can build lessons into projects to incorporate specific content, for example, Welsh local history study, or Welsh literacy and communication.
Maestro Lite comes with an inbuilt skills and knowledge progression framework, which underpins your curriculum content. This framework gives teachers clear assessment points in every primary subject. Both platforms help you to design, deliver and manage your curriculum, but Maestro Lite does not include the Cornerstones Curriculum. For a full run down of the features and how they compare, see the curriculum page.
