Choose your curriculum

Choice is important and so is flexibility.  That’s why we provide two curriculum models and the technology you need to shape them to meet the unique needs of your school.

Option 1:  A sequenced curriculum rich in skills and knowledge. Perfect for those schools who want an ambitious, well-structured curriculum. This is especially good for those schools looking to raise standards quickly and efficiently.

Option 2: A more flexible, creative and thematic curriculum that allows schools to sequence it according to their needs. Ideal for schools needing a little more flexibility and adaptability. This is especially good for those wanting to inject more creativity and innovation into their curriculum.

Cornerstones' 10 big ideas

Big ideas

While our curriculum models differ in their approach, both are based on ten Big Ideas. These macro concepts ensure the curriculum has a purpose, intent, and well-defined learning outcomes. This is ideal for UK schools wanting to give children a more global perspective and for international schools looking to consolidate their school curriculum across local and international programmes.

Labour's Curriculum Review

Supporting schools through the curriculum review

In 2024, the new Labour Government in the UK announced a review of the primary curriculum. This will begin in September 2024, with any changes presented to schools in autumn 2025. As the curriculum changes, we’ll adapt to meet the new requirements, supporting you every step of the way. With our curriculum housed on Maestro, changes can be made effectively and quickly with little to no disruption to your school, and without unnecessary workload on teachers and subject leaders. Plus, many of the changes indicated, such as a renewed focus on oracy, are already embedded across the curriculum and will require no to little change.

“Cornerstones provided a great platform for us to build our new wider curriculum. It had a large enough content base for us to then cut and trim until we had the curriculum that we knew was right for our school. And Ofsted loved it too!”
