English and literacy

English and literacy ideas, activities and resources are fully embedded within both our curriculum models.

English holds a unique place in our curriculums, combining different elements, such as reading, writing, language and linguistics, across all subjects. It also includes hundreds of opportunities for children to build a foundation of spoken language that enables them to think, talk and write about their world.

English packs provide ideas and resources

Integrated English packs include lesson ideas and resources and key vocabulary that support children in reading and writing different genres.

Oracy

Helping children develop their oracy skills gives them the confidence to articulate their knowledge, ideas and opinions in a range of contexts and for different purposes. Rich in planned opportunities for developing children’s spoken language, our curriculums provide them with the skills they need to discuss, debate, perform, and converse well with others.

Integrated vocabulary framework

Subject vocabulary is sequenced and integrated across both curriculums. Using our advanced tool, CurriculumPRO you can easily demonstrate and track how key vocabulary for each subject is sequenced across a year, including how keywords and concepts are introduced and revisited.

Supporting children’s love of reading

Use our book studies (KS1) and novel studies (KS2) to introduce children to a wide range of texts linked to curriculum projects to support children’s reading comprehension skills in guided reading groups or whole class sessions. Helping children in the early years
