Interested in becoming an early adopter of the fully sequenced Curriculum 2022? The remaining projects will be released in phases over the next 12 months, but you can start to implement this high-quality curriculum from September 2021. Here’s how.
If you already have the online platform, Curriculum Maestro, you can skip to the next step. Not on Maestro? Your school will need to purchase a licence for the platform. You’ll then have access to the Curriculum 2022 projects, resources and much more.
Login into Maestro and click on the Help Centre. Select Curriculum design>Your curriculum>Design a new curriculum. Here, you’ll find easy-to-follow steps on making Curriculum 2022 live for your school. We have single and mixed-aged models available.
You’ll notice that many of the projects in Curriculum 2022 are the ‘knowledge-rich projects’ on Maestro that you may have taught this year. These were always written to be part of a full curriculum sequence, so are now simply called Curriculum 2022 projects.
At this stage, it’s a good idea to share key information with colleagues, browse the projects and resources and set up your teacher timetables.
The main projects in Curriculum 2022 are already on Maestro, but some of the mini projects will be added in phases over the next 12 months, ready for you to teach term by term. The curriculum will offer you full coverage for the EYFS, plus KS1 and KS2 maths (via White Rose Maths), geography, history, design and technology, art and design and science.
There are also rich English packs that you can use that are linked to projects. For subjects like music and PE, you can add lessons from external schemes onto Maestro. The platform will then monitor coverage and progression across every primary subject.
Everything is ready for autumn 2021 except for the mini science projects. We’ve included these as ‘placeholder projects’, but you’ll still see the objectives they cover. For autumn, simply choose from the Love to Investigate projects or create lessons on Maestro to match the objectives. We’ll be adding the science projects from spring onwards.
CurriculumPRO is a brand new area coming to Maestro this September. It will help you to easily articulate the sequence and impact of Curriculum 2022. This is vital, especially if you are due an inspection, and will put you in a strong position during subject deep dives. We’ll let you know when CurriculumPRO is ready for you to use.
We’re always here to help, so do get in touch if you need any support as an early adopter. Our office and Live Chat are open 8am–5pm during term time, and 8am–4pm during school holidays. You can also email, call us or book a demo if you want to arrange an online meeting for staff. Remember, once you’re on Maestro, all guidance is available 24/7 on the Help Centre, too.
