Projects and resources
To save teachers time, the curriculum projects and lessons are sequenced to provide the optimum learning experience for all children. This means new knowledge and skills build on childrenโs previous learning towards the endpoints of the curriculum. Schools can change the curriculum sequence using Maestroโs functionality if required.
Adaptability and flexibility
Because schools value flexibility and autonomy, weโve made adapting and localising the curriculum quick and easy. And you donโt have to worry about going it alone; weโll help you do this with free online expert support from our curriculum advisers.

Make progress fast
Teachers can be confident that children make good progress by following the skills and knowledge set out in the curriculumโs progression framework. With links already made between the curriculum subjects, you can be sure your curriculum is interconnected and expertly balanced.
Global perspectives and diversity
The ten Big Ideas that head up the curriculum provide schools with clear intent and outcomes for childrenโs learning. These global concepts, including humanity, creativity, place and space, comparison and significance, ensure the curriculum offers all schools a rich and diverse menu of topics and resources.

Easily accessible resources
To save teachers valuable time, weโve embedded all our resources within each lesson plan. With Maestroโs advanced functionality, teachers can simply click, share, download or print exactly what they need for any lesson in an instant.
Supporting schools through the curriculum review
In 2024, the new Labour Government in the UK announced a review of the primary curriculum. This will begin in September 2024, with any changes presented to schools in autumn 2025. As the curriculum changes, weโll adapt to meet the new requirements, supporting you every step of the way. With our curriculum housed on Maestro, changes can be made effectively and quickly with little to no disruption to your school, and without unnecessary workload on teachers and subject leaders. Plus, many of the changes indicated, such as a renewed focus on oracy, are already embedded across the curriculum and will require no to little change.

“The new early years projects are structured really well and offer a good balance of teacher directed and child-led activities. What we enjoy about Cornerstones is that it offers us that flexibility.”
