Can we build a shelter to protect us from the weather?

Project overview

In this STEAM project, children become young scientists, engineers, and designers as they explore how weather shapes our lives and how we can adapt. They will investigate sun safety, wind, and temperature through hands-on experiments, then apply their knowledge to design and build weather- resistant shelters. Combining creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork, children will measure, test, and refine their designs, learning how materials and structure affect protection. Along the way, theyโ€™ll build skills in observation, inquiry, and innovation, developing resilience and curiosity while discovering how science, technology, art, and mathematics help us respond to the natural world.
