What is parliament?
A PSHE and SMSC project for Year 5 children
What is parliament? Who works there? How do they support and challenge the government?
In this project, children learn about parliament and how it plays an essential part in lawmaking. They explore how new laws are proposed and passed and how they can have a say in issues that are important to them. Finally, children explore the role of the youth parliament before debating whether the government could operate without parliament.
