What is a democracy?
A PSHE and SMSC project for Year 6 children
What is a democracy? What are the alternatives to a democracy? What rights do we have?
In this project, children find out the meaning of the word democracy, the pros and cons of living in a democratic society and explore the place of protests. Finally, they find out how their rights are protected by the United Nations before debating whether a democracy is the most effective form of government.
