Year 3 – Instructions on how to make a pepper instrument
Music can be made using just about anything, as our free resource proves. These simple and easy-to-follow instructions, from our Year 3 ILP, Scrumdiddlyumptious!, explain how to make a pepper shaker and a pepper drum.
Once the children have created their instruments, let them perform in a vegetable orchestra! They can shake, tap and beat their peppers to create different rhythms and keep to a pulse. This will certainly be a fun and memorable way to let the children play musical instruments with increasing accuracy, fluency, control and expression – aspects of the Year 3 curriculum.
