Bring literature to life with our Love to Read teaching guides

Our Love to Read teaching guides make reading a pleasure for teachers and children. Aimed at Key Stage 2 readers, they help you teach classic and contemporary children's literature, whatever your literary experience or knowledge.

Choose from 30 teaching guides

Each guide gives you a plot synopsis, details about the author, characters, and setting, and information on how language and literary devices are used. They are also packed with ideas for classroom activities that will engage children in discussion.

Our Love to Read guides cover a range of literature, both classic and contemporary, including:

Using Love to Read

You can teach Love to Read alongside the Cornerstones Curriculum, as each guide relates to one of our Imaginative Learning Projects (ILPs). However, if your school doesn't use the Cornerstones Curriculum, you can teach Love to Read independently. They can improve children's understanding of a particular theme or historical content and make learning a fully immersive experience.
